There Will Be Rain

There will be rain here
We normally run for shelter
Who wants to be wet in the rain
And look like a helpless chick in the drain?

There will be rain
And we will be seeking shades under the trees
And run towards waiting sheds where the rain
Cannot harm our sensibilities,

There will be rain and more rains to come
In our lives, and we always run for secure
Shelters, and we always have umbrellas,
And raincoats, and closed cars, we hide to places
Where The rain cannot harm us,

But today, there is rain, and I will take
Another action, I will not run for shelter,
Or take shades in trees, or be in waiting sheds,
I will not even open my car, get into it and close it,

I am not afraid of rain now; I have no fears getting wet
And look like a helpless chick, I will run in the
Middle of the rain, I will play in the rain, I will
Be with the rain throughout its pouring,
I will be wet, and it will rain and rain,
Let it rain and rain and rain
You will not see, my tears falling, tears hiding in the rain

Through Your Tummy =)

I love to learn different languages and cultures around the world. I find the best way to do that is through your tummy=) Food brings everyone together and puts smiles on everyone's faces. You can learn a lot about a culture through its' native dishes. If you take your time to learn about the dishes form other cultures you will have a greater understanding of their importance for that certain culture and you might even pick up on how to make it yourself ;)

Dawn

Dawn blushed; betrayed her waking sky
To gently break another morrow fine.
Night waned – the black receding – highland
Reaching for the early morning wine.

The chorus rendered frantic caws and
Chirps and other avian song,
Mapping out the 'mine and yours, ' and
Goading more to sing along!

Quiescent water – deep of lake –
Reflected out the hazy red, but
Through the glass, a flick, a break:
An urgent tail from hidden bed!

And in the meadow, waking faces
Calmly spread a coloured veil;
The dew disclosing spider laces –
Oft with once a fly’s travail!

Dawn blushed; revealed her inner peace;
She handed on another blissful day.
Night ebbed, relenting to release of
Warming blood that gives to her display

Bee

She sat nibbling
Perched on a flat pinnacle between forays
Strangely small silvery wings rode precariously upon her yellow back
Tethered in place with twine
And by her side was her bucket treasure trove
Of a thousand small shiny drops of generosity
Carefully collected
The harvest of a thousand excuse me’s
Then lunch was over
Antennae bobbed above her head as she stepped down
And buzzed away into the shopping crowd

Bored in Class

This is what happens when i get bored in class

Wind and Window Flower by Robert Frost

Lovers, forget your love,
And list to the love of these,
She a window flower,
And he a winter breeze.
When the frosty window veil
was melted down at noon,
And the caged yellow bird
Hung over her in tune,
He marked her through the pane;
He could not help but mark,
And only passed her by
To come again at dark.
He was a winter wind,
Concerned with ice and snow,
Dead weeds and unmated birds,
And little of love could know.
But he sighed upon the sill;
He gave the sash a shake,
As witness all within
Who lay that night awake.
Perchance he half prevailed
To win her for the flight
From the fire lit looking-glass
And warm stove-window light.
But the flower leaned aside
And thought of naught to say,
And morning found the breeze
A hundred miles away.

Chain of love and peace

One moment of love and peace,
Several moments of love and peace, it can make.

Several moments of love and peace,
One minute of love and peace, it can make.

One minute of love and peace,
Several minutes of love and peace, it can make.

Several minutes of love and peace,
One hour of love and peace, it can make.

One hour of love and peace,
Several hours of love and peace, it can make.

One hour of love and peace,
Several hours of love and peace, it can make.

Several hours of love and peace,
One day of love and peace, it can make.

One day of love and peace,
Several days of love and peace, it can make.

Several days of love and peace,
One week of love and peace, it can make.

One week of love and peace,
Several weeks of love and peace, it can make.

Several weeks of love and peace,
One month of love and peace, it can make.

One month of love and peace,
Several months of love and peace, it can make.
Several months of love and peace,
One year of love and peace, it can make

One year of love and peace,
Several years of love and peace, it can make

Several years of love and peace,
One life of love and peace, it can make

One life of love and peace,
Several lives of love and peace, it can make

Several lives of love and peace,
One family of love and peace, it can make

One family of love and peace,
Several families of love and peace, it can make

Several families of love and peace,
One village of love and peace, it can make

One village of love and peace,
Several villages of love and peace, it can make

Several villages of love and peace,
One community of love and peace, it can make

One community of love and peace,
Several communities of love and peace, it can make

Several communities of love and peace,
One country of love and peace, it can make

One country of love and peace,
Several countries of love and peace, it can make

Several countries of love and peace,
One world of love and peace, it can make

One world of love and peace,
One eternity of love and peace, it can make

One moment of love and peace,
One eternity of love and peace, it can make

So, why doesn’t it?
Because this is same for hate and war…

Have you ever had one of those days were you wish you could just tell the world "Sorry, can't come to the phone right now so leave a message at the beep......beeeeeep"?

Another Romantic

The whole world is just
One romantic dramatic comedy
Horror after another
Each person
That hopeless romantic
Triumphant lowlife, scoundrel,
Angel, model
That we see every day
Every kiss is love
Every loss the worst
Things start to lose their meanings
In this same old romance
Comedic dramatic horror series
With way to many seasons
Once a hit
Now watched
Out of pity
Waiting for another character
To get killed off
So they can return
To their own romantic
Comedy drama horror life cliché
Hoping one day
The movies won’t be able to say enough
To call it a romantic
Comedy horror drama
Of a life

Ocean

Traveling from a little river to an ocean
tapping back into the forbidden waters that you vowed not to intersect

Drowning yourself in the beauty of the ocean,
this ocean that has hurt and taught so many
This ocean that you can't resist,
something that you have yearned to feel

If people are smaller than the ocean
than that explains a different meaning
why the waves come and wash away the rules that exists in the river
why the ocean can take you away from the main currents
and back into rivers and grasses
that you never thought existed

Why does the ocean lead us on
and get us used to a constant travel then jerks you into a different direction
smashing your feelings against hard rocks
pushing you into rough waters
only to temporarily comfort you
and repeat the cycle again

Maybe the ocean is beyond powerful
for it holds precious jewels and nutrients that help humanity survive
We need its waters,
we crave its roughness
and depend on it to teach us lifelong lessons

The ocean has seen us in our worse moments,
our happiest memories,
our sadiest tragedies.
The ocean has read our thoughts
and washed away parameters

When do we graduate from its tides,
where do we go after we have progressed from the waters?

The Health Benefits of Kimchi

Kimchi shot to fame on the world stage after being named as one of the top 5 healthiest foods in the world, alongside Spanish olive oil, Soy, Yogurt and Lentils. The health benefits of Kimchi seem remarkable and more about this traditional korean food is being discovered all the time.

The average Korean eats around 40 pounds of Kimchi every year, and it is believed that kimchi has helped to keep rates of obesity lower in South korea than other countries.

Kimchi is packed with vitamin A, thiamine B1, riboflavin B2, calcium, and iron. It's main benefit though is found in the bacteria lactobacilli, this is found in yogurt and fermented foods. This bacteria helps with digestion.

Recent studies have shown that Kimchi may prevent certain types of cancer including breast cancer in woman, and further research into this will hopefully reveal more in the future. It has also been shown that Kimchi lowers cholesterol.

On a lighter note it has been shown that chickens infected with Avian flu, were found to recover after eating kimchi, and a recent study by the Korea Food Research Institute supported the fact that kimchi boosts the immune system in chickens.

International Women's Day 2011

Today is the 100th anniversary of International Woman's Day.

International Women's Day (IWD) was honoured the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland on 19 March. More than one million women and men attended IWD rallies campaigning for women's rights to work, vote, be trained, to hold public office and end discrimination. However less than a week later on 25 March, the tragic 'Triangle Fire' in New York City took the lives of more than 140 working women, most of them Italian and Jewish immigrants. This disastrous event drew significant attention to working conditions and labour legislation in the United States that became a focus of subsequent International Women's Day events.

Since its birth in the socialist movement, International Women's Day has grown to become a global day of recognition and celebration across developed and developing countries alike. For decades, IWD has grown from strength to strength annually. For many years the United Nations has held an annual IWD conference to coordinate international efforts for women's rights and participation in social, political and economic processes. 1975 was designated as 'International Women's Year' by the United Nations. Women's organisations and governments around the world have also observed IWD annually on 8 March by holding large-scale events that honour women's advancement and while diligently reminding of the continued vigilance and action required to ensure that women's equality is gained and maintained in all aspects of life.

IWD is now an official holiday in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China (for women only), Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal (for women only), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zambia. The tradition sees men honouring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc with flowers and small gifts. In some countries IWD has the equivalent status of Mother's Day where children give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers.

Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more
.
So make a difference, think globally and act locally !! Make everyday International Women's Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.

Korean Age

My Korean age is 22 and my international is 20. Sound weird? Maybe is for some people but it really does make a lot of since. It goes by how many years you have seen in your life and not how old you are. On the day you are born, you are experiencing the first year of your life, and therefore in Korea, you are one year of age. So the day you are born you are 1 year old.
